RESPONSIBILITY CHECKLIST FOR GOSPEL PREACHERS

A significant part of a preacher's work is the "defense of the gospel" (Phil. 1:16). Paul said, "Let a man examine himself" (I Cor. 11:28).  As the Lord's church deals with the tensions caused by those determined to introduce their divisive agenda of change, each man who fills a pulpit in the church needs to take inventory of the way he is doing this aspect of  his job.

  24. The Lord already knows what are have done and are doing.  Sometimes we humans assume we are doing much better than we really are.  It will do all of us good to take a few minutes and inventory our conduct to determine just what our record is.

A good solider of Christ Jesus must be willing to stand up and fight the good fight of the faith (I Tim. 6:12).  He will contend earnestly for the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).   The Spirit of God says to each of us,  "Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves" (II Cor. 13:5).
