AN EXCHANGE WITH A CONVERT TO POSTMODERNISM

Dear Mr. Waddey:

I think I have died and gone back to the 1950’s. I am so glad I do not have to hear all those stale answers anymore. They have no weight with today’s seekers.  Do you even know what post-modern means? Dear Lord, deliver me from self-assured (not God assured) church of Christ killers.  Judy T.

Dear Sis. Judy:

Thanks for taking time to write me your thoughts about my website and the lessons it contains. Yes, I do understand about Postmodernism.  I have read books setting forth its tenets and books by those caught up in it.  You are surely aware that it is thoroughly anti-Christian. Unfortunately, I conclude from your letter that you are caught up in it. Views of philosophy, such as Postmodernism, come and go...a new one arises every few years, but the Word of the Lord abides forever (Matt. 24:35).  The teachers of Postmodernism have no power to forgive your sins nor a heaven to offer you...just some emotion-laden and self-fulfilling substitute for the religion of Christ that appeals to those who either do not know or understand the message and religion of Jesus Christ.  May God be with you and guide you safely back into his fold.  You are in my prayers.
