Dear Bro. Jones:

I want to thank and commend you for the Statement of Direction you recently published on behalf of the university you represent. You need not worry about it not being adequately worded. It is stated exactly as it should be.  The challenges to the Lord's church are from two directions. Those of liberal change agents on the left and the radical conservatives on the right.

If either of them prevails the church will wither and die. The advice you are giving your students to avoid being caught up in either swirling current is sound.
