THE FOUNTAIN HEAD OF THE CHANGE MOVEMENT

Dear Bro. Smith:

The fountain head of our "change movement"...into apostasy, is Abilene Christian University. Pepperdine, and other schools are also infected with this deadly virus. I am certainly not anti-Christian Schools, but we are being betrayed by some of our schools, i.e., by some of the current administrators and teachers in them. Some of the school men have forgotten that our schools exist to serve the church.  It appears that in the minds of those mentioned above, churches exist to provide students, funds for the schools, and places for professors to supplement their salaries. There are school men who wish to set the agenda for the church in terms of her faith, worship and practice. It is an unhealthy, and in this case unscriptural, situation when the mistress is servant to the handmaid.

We need your help in this struggle.  Our biggest chore is to awaken the brethren as to the nature and extent of our problem. Then we must stir and motivate them to action. We must find ways to work together in concert if we are to overcome a formidable army of error.  Each of us alone can do some good and put up a valiant resistance.  But alone, we will eventually be overrun or isolated and circumvented. Standing together, we become a powerful force that can rout the enemy.  We can rally and inspire the brethren at large to stand firm and at the same time be aggressive in spreading the gospel and extending the borders of the Lord's kingdom.

The print edition of Christianity: Then and Now currently goes to the preachers and elders of every congregation in 24 states. We want to add other states. We need helpers. If a person, family or church will help with $50 per month we can add all the churches in Maryland or Indiana. Perhaps
you could help us do that. Each month we try to include a good tract on one of the issues involved. It costs us approximately $250 to purchase them.
This may be something your would be able to help with. When I die I hope I can look back and see that I was able to do something of lasting value for the church I love.  I pray that we can pass it on to our children and grandchildren at least as strong and pure as it was when delivered to us.
