DRIVING THE WRONG WAY

People who ignore road signs often suffer terrible consequences. Three times in recent weeks people who failed to see or observe warning signs were involved in horrible crashes that took their lives as well as others.  Most intelligent people understand this elementary lesson of life when driving their car.  On the other hand, multitudes of people forget the importance of the principle when they come to religion.

Christ said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).  The apostles understood and preached that "in none other (than Christ) is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved." (Acts 4: 12).  Paul declared that "there is one body, and one Spirit,...one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all..." (Eph. 4:4-5). Yet many folks see the sign saying "One Way" yet are determined to seek other ways to heaven. No religion but Christianity will take you to God's heaven!  No Savior but Jesus Christ can save your soul!  No body (i.e. church, Eph. 1:22) is acceptable to God but Christ's church. Only the faith of Christ, revealed in his New Testament is an acceptable faith! No baptism but that commanded by the Lord will suffice for forgiveness of sins.

Just as it is foolish and deadly to ignore the sign and drive the wrong way on a One Way street, so it is the height of folly to try to get to heaven by going the wrong way. Please don't put your immortal soul in jeopardy by doing so.
